Discovery
The mirror and the mark

Why founders are surprised by what they see in early discovery.
Brand work is, at its heart, a mirror. Most people are surprised by what they see. Not because the reflection is unkind, but because it is precise in a way that day-to-day work rarely allows.
In the first weeks, our job is mostly to ask and to listen. The founder talks, and somewhere in the talking the real story surfaces, often a sentence or two that they did not plan to say.
That sentence becomes the spine of everything that follows. The mark, the voice, the positioning, they all bend toward it. Get the mirror right and the rest is craft.
